TEHRAN - Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the chairman of the Expediency Council, said on Saturday that the fight against terrorist groups entails a strong international will.

“If Iran’s principled position in fighting terrorism had been heeded, its dimensions in the region [the Middle East region] and the world would not have been so vast,” he said at an Expediency Council’s meeting.

He added that spread of terrorism poses serious threat against the world, citing terrorist attacks in France as example.

Press TV reported that a string of coordinated attacks in and around the French capital of Paris has left 127 people dead and some 200 others injured.
