Tehran, Nov 6, IRNA - Military Advisor to the Supreme Leader Major-General Yahya Rahim-Safavi said on Friday that pivotal role of Iran in fight against Takfiri terrorist groups is very significant.

Through its military advisors, Iran is now rendering services to those who are in direct combat against Daesh Takfiri terrorist groups, he said.

In a meeting with the family of martyred Major-General Hossein Hamedani, Safavi said Syria is now regarded as an international warfront against the US and Zionists.

The US and Zionists along with a number of countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey have formed a unified front to topple the legal government of Bashar al-Assad, he said.

The enemies have planned to topple Bashar al-Assad and then target Lebanese Hizbullah, Iraq and finally Iran as they believe that there is a strong bond between these powers, he said.

War in Syria is very tough, Safavi said.
