Judiciary calls for punishment of Mina tragedy's agents

Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA – Spokesman for the Judiciary here Wednesday called for the punishment of the agents who were responsible for the Mina tragic event that claimed lives of 239 Iranian pilgrims.

At a local ceremony, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei also called for financial and spiritual compensations for the families of Mina victims.

The Saudi rulers cannot escape from their heavy responsibility for the Mina tragedy, said Mohseni-Ejei.

Mecca should be the safest place on earth he said adding that the Mina tragedy cannot be disregarded.

He further called for the Islamic countries to find a proper way to deal with the future of the twin shrines in Mecca and Medina as well as management of the pilgrims there.

The pilgrims were on way to jamar?t to perform Hajj rituals when over 4,000 were killed due to a stampede in Mina on Thursday. The Stoning of the Devil is part of the annual Islamic Hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.
