Ebtekar hopes for better environment protection cooperation with Japan

Tehran, Sept 23, IRNA – Vice President and Head of Iran Department of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar hoped further cooperation with Japan would help better protection for environment and promote global peace.

In a meeting with the Japenese Ambassador to Tehran Koji Haneda, the Iranian official said Tehran-Tokyo cooperation to protect environment would lead to development of universal peace.

She also invited the outgoing ambassador to take part in the International Green Film Festival which is to be held in Iran in December focusing on water and water scarcity in the country.

Referring to Iran’s significant role in protecting regional environment, Ebtekar stressed the importance of cooperating with Japan in the field of waste management.

The ambassador expressed Tokyo's readiness to promote bilateral cooperation with Tehran in the field of environmental activities.
