Over 25 Yemenis killed in Saudi air raid

2 Sep 2015 - 11:26

TEHRAN (FNA)- The latest reports from Yemen said, at least, 27 more civilians have been killed in the latest round of Saudi airstrikes on the country.

On Tuesday, Saudi air raids hit an area between the provinces of Shabwa and Ma’rib, killing 17 people.

The attack also mistakenly killed three militia forces loyal to Yemen’s fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Nearly a dozen more people lost their lives following Saudi strikes on Abyan and Bayda provinces.

Saudi airborne assaults further targeted several positions in the provinces of Ta’izz and Amran.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 161 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 5,647 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
