Call for expansion of Iran, Ireland ties

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani expressed hope here on Sunday that the ground could be prepared for activities of Irish private sector in Iran.

President Rouhani made the remarks while receiving the letter of credential of Irish new Ambassador to Tehran Bransdon Ward.
Pointing to the Tehran-Dublin good relationship, President Rouhani expressed hope that mutual cooperation could be expanded during the post-sanction era.
Touching upon the two countries common viewpoints in regional arenas, President Rouhani underlined the need for mutual consultation on major regional and global issues including the joint goals aimed at tackling terrorism and violence.
President Rouhani also called for fostering mutual cooperation in economic, cultural, trade, scientific and tourism fields.
The Irish envoy, for his part, said Iran plays a pivotal role in the region, urging Tehran's more active role in regional issues.
