Changes in Iran, US’s “impossible dream”: Judiciary chief

18 Aug 2015 - 15:43

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani rejected any US-favored change in Iran following conclusion of the nuclear talks, stressing that the Islamic Republic’s policy of defying oppression will remain unchanged.

“The notion that gradual US-favored changes will take place in Iran or that our country’s people and officials will stop pursuing the pure Islamic goals and values is an illusion,” Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said in a meeting of ranking Judiciary officials in Tehran on Monday.

He also denounced as “the enemies’ impossible dream” any slowdown in Iran’s fight against oppression under the impact of a nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

Iran and the six countries finalized the text of a lasting deal over Tehran’s nuclear program on July 14.

While many consider the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) a major breakthrough in the improvement of ties between Iran and the West, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has underscored that Iran will foil any US attempt to infiltrate the Islamic Republic via a nuclear accord whose future is still uncertain.

On Monday, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Iran acts “decisively” to block Washington’s abuse of the outcomes of the nuclear talks, noting, “With all our strong capabilities, we will not allow Americans’ economic, political or cultural infiltration or political presence in Iran.”
