Russia expects that the plan of actions on the Iranian nuclear program will come into force in the coming week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia expects that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program will enter into force in the upcoming weeks, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.
"We are pleased with the adoption of a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and expect that the plan, as provided by the UN Security Council-approved resolution, will come into force in the coming weeks," Lavrov said at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.
The Russian foreign policy chief confirmed his working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"We hold regular foreign ministerial meetings. [Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif] confirmed the invitation to visit Tehran, which I am pleased to take advantage of within the agreed timeline," he told reporters.
