12 Aug 2015 - 18:02

Tehran, Aug 12, IRNA - Serbia is interested in officially presenting Persian language courses in high schools, said the head of a Serbian Center for Education Testing and Evaluation.

Speaking in a meeting with Mahmoud Shalouei, the Iranian cultural attaché in Belgrade, Zoran Adamovic further said the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development has drawn up a comprehensive curriculum for the course and submitted it to the center for final approval.

According to the Tehran-based “Iran Daily”, he hoped that greater cooperation will enable the center to fulfill the prerequisites for a final permit from the Iranian Ministry of Education.

Adamovic proposed that both sides hold an expert meeting to study the Serbian ministry’s syllabus and discuss educational conditions in Iran.

Speaking at the same meeting, Shalouei said considerable efforts have been undertaken in Serbia to promote Persian language in the country.

“Given the interest of Serbian students in Persian language and literature, four universities as well as three Serbian cities are currently offering courses in this field.”

He noted Persian language is the window to further knowledge to ancient Eastern civilizations.
