Iran to export 1,000 tons of copper cathode to China

Tehran, August 8, IRNA – Iran would export 1,000 tons of copper cathode to China, Managing Director of National Iranian Copper Company Ahmad-Morad Alizadeh said on Saturday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the visit of an Iranian commercial delegation to China to explore the grounds for business and trade cooperation.
Citing the figures about Iranian copper output, Alizadeh said that in 2013 the global copper output was 21 million tons a year, 17.5 million tons obtained from mines in different countries.
China is the major consumer of copper, he said, adding that with a consumption of 8.5 million tons, China stood high in the list of the copper consumers.
He said that the average per capita copper consumption worldwide is three kilograms for a person and in Iran the figure stands at 1.4 kilograms for each person.
Iran's copper consumption stands at 120,000 tons a year.
