Ali Akbar Salehi made the remark after a meeting with Ernest Moniz, the US secretary of energy on Thursday.
For his part, Secretary Moniz told reporters that we seek to solve the final technical issues if we can.
A meeting between Iran's Deputy Foreign Ministers Abbas Araghchi and Majid Takht-e Ravanchi and deputy EU foreign policy chief Helga Schmid continued into early Thursday with the two sides resuming their talks hours ago.
Iran's envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency Reza Najafi also attended the meeting.
