Iran launches 1st shelter for runaway girls in Tehran

Tehran, July 1, The Iran Project - Iran's Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Welfare said on Wednesday that first shelter for keeping runaway girls was launched in Tehran.

First shelter for keeping runaway girls was launched in Tehran, Iran's Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Welfare, Ali Rabiee announced on the sidelines of an Iftar feast in Ameneh nursery.

Pointing to the improper conditions of girls after running away from home, Rabiee added if they can be kept in a center, they are less likely to be abused.

He said “at first, we are trying to identify and keep runaway girls, then by finding their families; we can make them ready to return home.”

However,he stressed that the girls shouldn’t be forced to return home, because they may run way again.
