Iran raises steel output by 5.1 percent

TEHRAN (ISNA)- World Steel Association announced that Iran’s steel output rose by 5.1 percent

The amount includes five months production from January to May. Iran made 7 million tons of steel during the five months. Its production hit 6.6 million tons during similar period last year.

Iran’s steel production in May rose by 2.1 percent, reaching 1.455 million tons.

China, South Korea, the US and Japan are still lessening production. China reduced its output by 1.6, Japan by 4.4 and South Korea by 5.1 percent.

65 countries across the world are producing steel which surpassed 675 million tons
