Former police chief denies reports of his arrest

Tehran, June 10, The Iran Project – Former Police Chief has denied the reports of his arrest, saying that the accused in the case of corruption in the ‘Cooperative Foundation’  has released the rumors.


In response to a question on whether you were in prison, Iran’s Former Police Chief Esmail Ahmadi-Moghaddam said on Tuesday that in the last four months of his tenure, he has dealt with a case of corruption in the ‘Cooperative Foundation’ and he was threatened by the accused.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in his capacity as Commander in Chief as the Iranian Law Enforcement forces, replaced Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam with Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari  on March 9.

Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam served as police chief for about ten years.
