IAEA reports disprove Ahmadinejad’s office claims: Iran FM

Tehran, May 27, The Iran Project – Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement last night, saying that IAEA’s official reports prove the claims of Ahmadinejad’s office false, Farhikhteghan newspaper reported on Wednesday.

In response to the remarks of Ahmadinejad’s office that the former government did not allow IAEA’s inspectors to interview nuclear scientists, Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday night, referring the office to available national documents as well as reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to see that Zarif’s remarks were true.


The Foreign Ministry has said that dissemination of lies attributed to Zarif by the office of former President Ahmadinejad is actionable.

A short search on the site of IAEA provides the documents showing that the agency’s inspectors interviewed Iranian nuclear scientists Ahamdinejad's era, daily Farhikhteghan said.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ahmadinejad’s office accused Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif of “spreading lies” and called his remark, a sheer lie.

This came after FM Zarif said in an interview that the previous government had allowed Iranian nuclear scientists to be interviewed.
