Iran launches trade center in Erbil

TEHRAN, May 17 (MNA) – Iranian deputy minister of industries, mines and trade announced the launch of an Iranian trade center in Iraq’s Kurdish region's capital Erbil.Pointing to the inauguration of an Iranian trade center in Iraq’s Kurdish capital, Erbil, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Valiollah Afkhami-Rad said the center would introduce Erbil’s commercial potentials to the traders according to the market status in Iraq, along with supporting Iranian businessmen and companies.

Afkhami-Rad stressed the support for Iranian reputable companies in the Erbil market, saying that small businesses would be excluded from the market in a bid to protect companies with long-term presence in the market.

Iranian trade center is set up in a bid to promote tourism industry by launching agencies which can pave the way for promoting tourism between the two countries and providing medical tourism for Iraqi patients.

"The center would provide conditions for the development and facilitation of trade between Iran and Iraq," Afkhami-Rad said, noting that the Iranian trade center in Erbil would raise up the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries by 25%.
