TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) – Aida Panahandeh’s ‘Nahid’ as Iran’s only representative will be screened at the Un Certain Regard section of the 68th Cannes International Film Festival.Iranian social drama, Nahid by Iranian filmmaker Aida Panahandeh will be screened at the Un Certain Regard section of the 68th Cannes International Film Festival on May 16.

Nahid will be also displayed at another main movie theater on May 17.

The film also has three screenings at Cannes film market the details of which will be announced later.

A production of Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), Nahid narrates the story of a divorced woman (Nahid) living with her son in a small northern city of Iran. She wants to marry the man she has fallen in love with, but encounters certain challenges as the custody of her son has been granted by her ex-husband to her on the condition that she would never remarry.

The 68th edition of the festival running from May 13-24 and presided by Joel and Ethan Coen, will pay tribute to Ingrid Bergman, who would have turned 100 this year.

Ingrid Bergman’s daughter Isabella Rossellini is presiding over the jury in the Un Certain Regard.
