Nobakht on Thursday held separate meetings with Indonesian Minister of Commerce Bambang Brodjonegoro, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil, and Minister of National Development Planning Agency  Andrinof Chaniago in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

During the meetings, which were also attended by Iran’s Ambassador to Jakarta Valiollah Mohammadi, Nobakht briefed the Indonesian officials on Iran’s economic capabilities and its development in the fields of nuclear and aerospace technologies.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nobakht had also held a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Jusuf Kalla, during which the Indonesian side had noted that Iran enjoys an enormous capacity in the area of energy and that expansion of cooperation would benefit both sides.

Last week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo, in a meeting in Jakarta, underlined the need for further efforts to boost bilateral relations between the two Muslim countries in diverse areas.

In his remarks, president Rouhani pointed to the importance of closer cooperation between Tehran and Jakarta in the area of economy, and said the joint economic commission of the two countries should work more actively.
