Saudi Arabia to suffer heavy defeat in Yemen: Iran cmdr.

12 Apr 2015 - 13:28

A senior Iranian commander has warned the Al Saud regime of the consequences of its ongoing military aggression against Yemen, saying the bloody war is doomed to end in failure.

Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan on Sunday described the Saudi military as a “proxy army” and said “the aggressors who have launched an attack against Yemen will definitely be defeated.”

“I advise the Saudi military to stop this [aggression] as it will suffer a heavy defeat,” added the senior Iranian military official.
Saudi Arabia’s military aggression against Yemen started on March 26, without a UN mandate, in a bid to restore power to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

On April 9, Colonel Sharaf Luqman, a Yemeni army spokesperson, said at least 1,000 people, including 200 children, have been killed in Saudi air attacks.

Ansarullah fighters took over state matters in January, citing the inability of the Hadi administration to properly run the affairs of Yemen and contain terror and corruption.

The Houthi revolutionaries say Hadi, who is now in Riyadh, lost his legitimacy as president when he first fled the capital, Sana’a, to Aden in February.
