Turkey’s President Erdoghan arrives in Tehran

Tehran, April 7, IRNA – Turkey’s President Recept Teyyip Erdoghan arrived in Tehran Tuesday morning at the top of a ranking delegation.




His one-day visit takes place upon the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani.


President Rouhan will officially welcome Erdoghan shortly.

In a joint press statement issued on Saturday, during his stay in Iran, the Turkish president is to exchange views on issues of mutual interest with President Rouhani.

He is also scheduled to visit Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Turkish delegation is to hold separate meetings with the Iranian ministers discussing mutual cooperation in all fields.

The second meeting of the High Council on Iran-Turkey Strategic Cooperation is also to be held during President Erdogan’s stay in Tehran.

The first meeting of the council was held in Ankara in June 2014 when President Rouhani visited Turkey.
