TEHRAN, Apr. 06 (MNA) – Esmaeil Monsef’s short film ‘Aghla’ will compete with other titles in the international section of Trento Film Festival in Italy.

Aghla, directed by Esmaeil Monsef and produced in the Documentary and Experimental Film Center will be screened and vie for top prizes at the 63rd edition of Trento International Film Festival in Italy.

Founded in 1952, Trento Film Festival is the oldest international film festival dedicated to the mountains, adventure and exploration.

Every year, Trento Film Festival presents the best documentaries, fiction works and short films set in the mountains and extreme areas around the world, recounting the fascinating and complex relationship between human beings and nature, promoting knowledge and protection of mountain areas, exploring links with peoples and cultures and celebrating major and minor climbing feats and mountain sports.

The festival’s biggest prize is 5000 euros, and the second and third winners will each receive 3000 and 1500 euros respectively.

Aghla is about an Ashiq player (a mystic bard) whose profession is to play music at wedding receptions in remote villages, until once he turns up at a funeral by accident.

The Trento Film Festival is taking place in Italy from April 30 to May 10, 2015.
