Iran: Saudi aggression against Yemen targets Islamic Ummah

6 Apr 2015 - 15:17

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Saudi aggression against Yemen has targeted the Islamic Ummah (the Islamic World).

“Saudi aggression against Yemen has targeted the Islamic Ummah. The results of the warmongering policies is forming more terrorist streams. These warmongering policies in the region can affect other countries,” Larijani said on Monday.

Larijani warned that Saudis should know that when an Islamic country attacks another Muslim country, the attack undermines the two countries and only benefits Zionist regime and certain Arab countries.

He further reiterated that warmongering policies in the region would lead to creation of more terrorist streams.

Saudi Arabia’s air campaign against Yemen started on March 26 without a UN mandate in a bid to restore power to the country's fugitive president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

However, Ansarullah fighters say Hadi lost his legitimacy as president of Yemen after he in February fled the capital to Aden, where he sought to set up a rival base. Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Houthi revolutionaries.
