New York, March 13, IRNA – Vice-President for Women and family Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi said on Friday that world women face common challenges, so sharing views and presenting common approaches to that effect would help improve their situation.




In a meeting with Norway's Children, Equality and Social Inclusion Minister Solveig Horn in New York on the sidelines of the International Conference of the Commission on the Status of Women, Molaverdi called for strengthening communications and exchanging views to remove common challenges and obstacles faced by women.

Despite numerous achievements made by the Iranian women in the fields of education, health, science and technology, there is a long way still ahead in the fields of economy and effective presence in the decision-making centers.

Using other countries' constructive experience in establishing necessary balance in accepting social and family responsibilities by the women and maintaining their dignities are among the 11th government considerations,, Molaverdi said.

Horn, for her part, said that objectives of the participating delegations in the gathering are common and women face many challenges despite the fact that they have passed a long way.

She also added that Norwegian women have active presence in the labor market, noting that the country has managed to provide working mothers with welfare facilities in a bid to empower them.

She invited Molaverdi to visit Norway at her convenience.
