Ankara, March 11, IRNA – The number of Iranian tourists visiting Turkey rose by almost 33 percent to 1,590,664 in 2014 compared to 2013, according to a report by Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The report said Iranians ranked sixth in the list of tourists visiting Turkey last year after Germany, Russia, the UK, Georgia and Bulgaria.


In 2014, a total of 36,837,900 foreign tourists visited Turkey, with Iranians having a share of 4.32 percent.

In 2012, 1,186,343 Iranians visited Turkey, gaining a share of 3.73 percent of 31,783,832 tourists visiting the country in the year.

In 2013, 1,196,801 Iranian tourists traveled to Turkey, accounting for 3.43 percent of 34,910,098 tourists visiting the country in the year.
