Qazvin, March 2, IRNA - President’s special aid for religious minorities Ali Younesi said the Islamic Republic of Iran is forerunner in combating extremism in the region.

Speaking in a local gathering in Qazvin city, in northwest of Tehran, Younesi underscored that ignoring wisdom and freedom is the root cause of extremism in religion.

The formation of Daesh terrorist group stems from neglecting wisdom, he added.

Last month, Younesi said in a conference on desecration in view of Islam and international laws that Islam allows no forms of insult, humiliation or ill-treatment against a religion under any circumstances.

He referred to “religious violence triggered by insult and humiliation” as the “greatest danger threatening human communities” in the contemporary world.

Presently, he said, the human community is facing the worst forms of insecurity, violence and insult.

The special aid of the president also urged all religious scholars to prevent creation of religious violence.
