Iran’s exports to Afghanistan hit $2.5 billion

Iran-Afghanistan flagsTEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Department of Commerce with Afghanistan of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Farhad Mojalali said Iran’s exports to Afghanistan total $2.5 billion which could raise to $6 billion.
“Our exports to Afghanistan reach $2.5 billion,” he said, expressing the hope that the amount could increase to 5 to 6 billion dollars.

Iran also plans to hold an exhibition in Afghanistan on February 17-20 to be attended by 90 Iranian foodstuff and construction companies, Mojalali said, adding Iran holds three exhibitions in Afghanistan annually to introduce Iran’s potentials to the country.

Moreover, Iran's Commercial Attache in Baghdad Ebrahim Rezazadeh said that Iran provides 20 percent of Iraq’s imports, adding Iran holds exhibitions in Iraq annually.

Presence of Iranian large companies in Iraq will help Iraqis know more about high quality Iranian cars, health products and medicines, Rezazadeh said, adding Iran also exports construction material, foodstuff, cars and other products to Iraq.

Iran plans to hold an exhibition on health, construction, water and power, oil and gas, engineering and technical services, foodstuff, home appliances, detergents and cars in Iraq on February 16-19 to be attended by Iranian First Vice President Ebrahim Jahangiri, Iranian Minister of Economy Ali Tayyebnia and senior Iraqi officials.
