Iran, Tanzania discuss promotion of technical, vocational cooperation

Kourosh ParandTEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Labor Minister Kourosh Parand and Tanzanian Minister of Education Shukuru Jumanne Kawambwa stressed Tehran and Dodoma's enthusiasm for expanding their cooperation in various vocational and training fields.

In a meeting with the Tanzanian official, Parand voiced readiness of the country's Technical and Vocational Training Organization (TVTO) to assist friendly countries, including Tanzania.


Parand went on to say that Iran can hold teacher training courses for Tanzania’s applicants in Iran’s teacher training and research centers of TVTO, can send trainers to Tanzania, prepare standards of training and instructional materials, equip and update workshops and training centers in Tanzania, provide vocational training, housing and rural education and use the latest models of vocational training and employment in small, medium and domestic works.


Tanzanian minister, for his part, asked Iran to assist his country in technical training and professional development, especially to train teachers.


Iran has striven hard to maximize relations with the African continent.


Iran is also an observing member of the AU and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.


The country is considered as one of the AU's strategic partners along with India, Japan, China, several South American states and Turkey, while Tehran is also believed to be prioritizing promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states.
