Moscow, Jan 27, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed issues of mutual interest with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov over phone Tuesday, simultaneously with a meeting being held in Moscow on Syria crisis.
In their phone conversations, the two sides consulted on Syria developments and the process of Moscow meeting attended by the Syrian government officials and opposition groups.
They underlined a political solution to Syrian crisis and importance of negotiations and national reconciliation.
The deputies foreign minister of Iran and Russia called for continuation of fight against terrorism, supporting national reconciliation and political negotiations in Syria while underlining the sovereignty and national unity of Syria.
Moscow meeting kicked off on Monday and on its second day 30 people representing opposition groups consulted with each other.
In the second phase they are scheduled to talk with Syrian permanent representative in the United nations Bashar Ja'fari on Wednesday and Thursday.
