Tehran, Jan 14, IRNA – Vice President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization said here Wednesday Tehran Intangible Heritage Center will take firm strides in safeguarding regional intangible heritage.
In a meeting with the ministers and representatives of West and Central Asian countries at historical Sa'dabad Palaces Complex of Tehran, Mas'oud Soltanifar referred to the Convention on Safeguarding the Intangible Heritage, reiterating, 'This convention has rapidly attracted the attention of the countries around the globe.'

He noted that although only 11 yeas has passed since ratification of that convention, so far 161 countries are already its members, which is a sign of its high popularity among the world nations.

'Of course as the status quo shows, this convention has not paid balanced attention to all aspects of the intangible heritage on the one hand, and on the other hand, too, we are witnesses to the increased statistics on registration of them around the world,' he added.

Soltanifar said that the objective for inviting the Central and West Asian ambassadors to the meeting was to introduce the newly established Tehran Intangible Heritage Center to them.
