Larijani to address closing ceremony of Int’l Quran contest

Tehran, Jan 4, IRNA -- The 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students will come to a close in a ceremony on Sunday night.
  The ceremony will be held at the Milad Tower in Tehran with the participation of cultural, Quranic and political officials, including Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Secretary of the competition Hamid Saber Farzam said.
He added that the final stage of the competition’s recitation and memorization categories will be held before the closing ceremony starts at 19:30.

Saber Farzam noted that winners of the contest will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony, iqna.ir reported.

He said members of the jury panel have told him that the level of this year’s competition has been high, a quality that Saber Farzam attributed to the selection process implemented by the organizers.

Elsewhere in his remarks, secretary of the competition said 20 Quran recitation sessions as well as two seminars and other cultural and religious programs were held on the sidelines of the international Quranic event.

The 5th edition of the competition started on Thursday, January 1, with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from 47 countries.
