Iran produces air defense simulator

3 Jan 2015 - 16:35

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian company mass produced a simulator system for training air defense tactics, an achievement that saves an annual sum of $3 million.

Kazem Sharifi, CEO of the Iranian company said the local experts have spent 3 years to design and manufacture the simulator system.

Manufacturing 5 of such simulators has cost the country only less than $600,000, he added.

“By employing the simulators, the trainees can learn how to safely work with the air defense systems at different levels, under an instructor’s supervision in a standard manner,” Sharifi noted.

The Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Back in November 2014, Iran unveiled a home-made flight simulator system, compatible with different types of Unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The Islamic Republic is now in possession of a broad range of UAVs which can be used for both civilian and military purposes.
