President to address opening of Int’l Quran Contest

Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA -- Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani will take part in the opening ceremony of the 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students.
  The ceremony is set to be held at the International Convention Hall of Tehran’s Milad Tower on Thursday afternoon, January 1.
This will be the first time that an Iranian president inaugurates the international Quran event, IQNA reported.

The 5th edition of the contest will be held at Milad Tower for four days with the participation of 66 Quran reciters and memorizers from 47 countries.

The Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization, affiliated to the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) has been organizing the event every two years since 2006.
