Tehran, Dec 28, IRNA - Exports exceeded imports in the nine months ending Dec. 21, according to statistics released by Iran’s Customs Administration (ICA).
The statistics indicated that exports reached $35.145 billion while imports cost $38.462 billion.
Figures show a 17.72-percent growth in non-oil exports versus a 14.98-percent growth in imports.
The major non-oil export products shipped to China, Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and India were liquefied propane, methanol and butane.
Iran’s main imports were wheat, corn, rice, soybeans and internal-combustion engine vehicles.
The UAE, China, South Korea and Turkey were the main exporters to Iran during the nine-month period.
In September, Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri hailed the eye-catching increase in Iran’s non-oil exports. Jahangiri called on the country’s private sector to play a more active role in non-oil exports.
