Gov’t wants more women managers

27 Dec 2014 - 11:38

Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA - The Iranian government will ensure that women hold 10 percent of the top management positions every year, said Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi.
Molaverdi added that it is part of efforts to correct the management system by engaging more women in high-ranking positions in the next three years.
She opposed the reduction of women’s working hours, stressing that it is not in their favor, wrote Saturday's edition of 'Iran Daily'.

“My department’s main mission is to create balance in all areas, the most important of which is assisting women to balance career and household responsibilities,” she said.

The vice president noted that poverty is the cause of most social vulnerabilities affecting women and families.

Molaverdi said positive steps have been taken by the government over the past 16 months to improve the economy and women’s condition.
