Larijani departs Baghdad for Karbala city

Baghdad, Dec 25, IRNA – Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani departed Baghdad for Karbala city on Thursday after meeting with high-ranking officials of Iraq.
  On Thursday, Larijani met with Leader of Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim and then received former parliament Speaker of Iraq Mahmoud al-Mashhadani and current deputy of Union of National Forces Movement.
In the meeting, al-Mashhadani said that winner of political disputes in the Middle East are the USA and Israel.

The two sides discussed current political issues in Iraq and relations between groups and political parties.

Larijani noted that unity among groups and political trends in Iraq is necessary to uproot terrorism in the country.

Larijani is to visit Iraqi Kurdistan on Friday.

He is scheduled to meet with former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and leader of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Larijani will depart Erbil for Tehran on Friday after ending his meetings with Kurdistan officials.
