Iranian musician wins Rome top prize

Tehran, Dec 25, IRNA - Iranian young musician, Rasam Lordakani, won the first prize at the International Rome Film Festival (Vision) for the best film score composed for the flick titled ‘I Wish I Was Born in the 40s’.
According to reports, only Italian short films and documentaries were permitted to contend in the fest.
The 27-year-old artist who lives in Iran was selected as the best classical guitarist in two editions of Tehran’s soloist festival in 2006 and 2008.

The screenplay of the movie ‘I Wish I Was Born in the 40s’ was also selected as the best screenplay at Vision festival.

The Iranian cinematographer of the movie, Mohammad Hassanzadeh, was among the nominees for the best cinematography award at the event.

The movie is about the current economic problems of the Italians.

Born in Tehran in 1987, Lordakani began to learn playing the guitar when he was 16.
