Tehran, Dec 16, IRNA – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in an interview with IRNA on Tuesday, said President Hassan Rouhani has full confidence in IRGC.
Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari made the remarks in reaction to speculations made by Western media about a recent speech delivered by President Rouhani in which according to the foreign outlets the Iranian President had ironically criticized the IRGC.
According to the IRGC commander, President Rouhani had later stated that his remarks had been misinterpreted and that his statements were not addressed to the IRGC.

“Mr. President has full confidence in the IRGC and likewise the Corps maintains good relations based on mutual turst with the President,” Jafari said, adding, “Enemies of the establishment and the Revolution particulalry those based abroad, cannot undermine this relationship which has been established since the imposed war (1980-1988).”

Western media embarked a huge propaganda following President Rouhani’s speech at a local conference on corruption last week where he said monopoly would lead to the spread of corruption.
