TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Al Khalifa regime forces arrested 19 young Bahraini Shiite pilgrims on their way to Iraq to participate in Arbaeen mourning ceremony, local media reports said.

“Security forces arrested 19 young Bahrainis at King Fahad Bridge on their way to Karbala today,” a Bahraini activist was quoted by Bahrain Mirror website as saying in his social network page.

Hassan Abdulnabi added that these young people arrested by the regime were mostly from the region of Dumistan.

Some Bahraini activists said security forces have moved the pilgrims to the Criminal Investigation building.

Meanwhile, Bahrain Mirror website wrote that Manama airport officials have also questioned and created problems for the Bahraini citizens who have recently traveled to Iraq.

Each year, pilgrims travel long routes on foot to the holy city of Karbala, where the tomb of Imam Hussein (AS) is located.
