TEHRAN (FNA)- Venezuelan Oil Minister Asdrubal Chavez said that Iran's stance in the last meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna serves the interests of all the member states.
Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh in Tehran on Monday, Chavez endorsed Iran's stance at OPEC meeting on November 27.

Chavez, who was accompanied by a number of high-ranking Venezuelan officials including deputy head of the study center of Venezuelan Central Bank and the Venezuelan Minister of Economy and Finance, called for expansion of Tehran-Caracas cooperation.

OPEC is an intergovernmental organization that was created at the Baghdad Conference on 10–14 September 1960, by Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Later it was joined by nine more governments: Libya, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Algeria, Nigeria, Ecuador, Angola, and Gabon. OPEC was headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland before moving to Vienna, Austria, on September 1, 1965.
