Argentina screens Iranian animation

3 Dec 2014 - 13:01

Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA – The Iranian short animation ‘Cloudy Goats’, directed by Hamid Karimian, was screened at the Short Film competition section of the 29th edition of Mar del Plata International Film Festival in Argentina.
The five-minute animation, a combination of 3d and 2d techniques, is an adaptation of Iranian writer Afsaneh Shaban Nejhad’s book.
It is a production of the cinematic affairs of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA).

Mar del Plata International Film Festival was held from Nov 22 to 30 in various categories including documentary, experimental and narrative fiction.

It is the only competitive feature festival recognized by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations) in Latin America, and the oldest in this category in the Americas.

Originally the awards were called Ombú after the typical pampas tree, but in 2004 the name was changed to Ástor for Ástor Piazzolla; Argentine music composer, bandoneon player and arranger.
