Government to approve budget bill next week

27 Nov 2014 - 14:02

Tehran, Nov 27, IRNA – Government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht referred to the 20% rise in development funds, reduction of current expenditures and increase in the salary of government employees in proportion with inflation rate in the next year budget bill.
Speaking to reporters after a cabinet session on Wednesday, Nobakht said positive efforts have been made for control of inflation and increase of economic growth rate.
He said next year the salary of all government employees will be increased equal to the inflation rate and said despite economization in expenditures increase in salary will be followed up.

However, he said next week the budget bill will be approved by the government and forwarded to the Majlis in due time.

Nobakht further remarked that with respect to the activities of the Iranian nuclear team, the president and the cabinet ministers appreciated their efforts.

Pointing to imposition of unjust sanctions on Iran in the past three years, dubbed as “paralyzing sanctions”, he said in the meantime Statistics Center of Iran has announced that inflation rate is taking a downward trend.

In reply to a question on nuclear talks he said the talks are not by any means negative, adding that plans have been formulated for continuation of the status quo, that is taking steps forward.

He said while many outstanding impediments have been removed stress has been made on preservation of national interests within existing frameworks. “We can say we consider continuation of the status quo with the hope to gain access to an agreement which fully safeguards our national interests.”

As for the release of Iran’s blocked hard currency he said $700 million will be released each month, adding that the way for using this sum is different from selling oil as in the case of oil there are restrictions for import of goods and services while in the case of unfrozen hard currency no restriction is imposed and it can be brought into the country in cash.
