Armenia to maintain trade relations with Georgia and Iran after entry into EEU

25 Nov 2014 - 10:08

“During negotiations on Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Yerevan managed to keep the current free trade regime with Georgia and the preferential trade relations with Iran,” Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said at parliamentary hearings on Armenia’s accession to the Agreement on the EEU.
According to him, the agreements signed by Armenia prior to joining the Agreement on the Accession to the EEU are not endangered.

S. Kocharyan said Armenia will become a member of the EEU after the agreement is ratified by the parliaments of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia.

“The ratification will not take place earlier than January 1, 2015. The EEU will start its activities at that time,” the deputy minister explained.
