Iranian firms ready for presence in electricity export projects

15 Nov 2014 - 10:23

Tehran, Nov 15, IRNA – Iranian companies are ready for active participation in electricity export project, if the conditions for doing so are met, said the deputy head of the Iranian Electricity Industry Syndicate here Friday.
“The Oil Ministry’s recent announcement of its readiness to invest in electricity export projects can in near future lead to boosting the country’s exports in the field, but the method and details of cooperation with the investors and the Iranian electricity companies interested in cooperation need to be clearly elaborated,” said Ali Bakhshi.
He complained about the challenges with which that syndicate members are engaged, including the obstacles that the banks create, which have been discussed with them several times, but still not resolved.

The deputy syndicate chief said that the Prudence and Hope Government of President Hassan Rouhani can eliminate such obstacles in the way of the country’s electricity companies.

“We also expect the Energy Ministry and the other concerned organs to contribute more than before so that the pre-defined objectives of this industry will be achieved and we could then in turn contribute to boosting the country’s electricity exports,” he said.

The government can be a reliable supporter of the country’s electricity industry, added Bakhshi.
