14 Oct 2014 - 17:46

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – Senior Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Borouerdi on Tuesday reacted to anti-Iran remarks made by Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal and said his words had been caused by his old age.
Boroujerdi, who is the head of the Majlis National Sejcurity and Foreign Policy Commission, said that every country, even the US, believes in Iran's constructive role in the region and that regional crises cannot be solved without contribution of Iran.
In his recent statements, Saud al-Faisal had claimed Iranian forces in Syria were "occupiers".

In a comment made after talks with his German counterpart on Monday, the Saudi foreign minister said that Iran must withdraw its "occupying" forces from Syria.

Boroujerdi described Saudi Arabia's intervention in Bahrain as occupation.

Boroujerdi also touched upon Turkey's policies on regional developments and said Ankara's policies on crises in Syria, Iraq and campaign against Daesh terrorist group is not acceptable.

He urged Ankara to reconsider its policies on what's going on in Syria.
