TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Northern Province of Mazandaran and the Republic of Dagestan plan to pave the ground for the further development of their mutual cooperation in various educational, tourism, industrial, and trade sectors.

In a meeting between Representative of the Republic of Dagestan in Iran Aliyev and Mazandaran Governor General Rabei Fallah on Monday, Aliyev said that his country is keen on economic cooperation with Mazandaran province of Iran.

He went on to say that his country seeks to cooperate with Iran in agro-products, tourism industry, technical and engineering services.

Aliyev said over 50,000 tons of cement from Mazandaran province will be transited to Russia through Dagestan.

He further added that some 48 huge projects are to be implemented in Dagestan in which Iranian investors mainly from Mazandaran province will play significant role.

The diplomat said Dagestan is ready to admit or exchange university students at PhD level with Mazandaran province of Iran.

Fallah, for his part, underscored that cultural affinities between the two nations serve as the ground to develop economic cooperation with the Republic of Dagestan.

He expressed the hope that the agreements due to be signed between the two sides would bear fruits.

In the last several years, Iran and Russia have had vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres.

The two states also enjoy special positions on the international scene and have long had constant and regular consultations on key regional and global issues.
