Thousands of Iranian clergy employed in schools

7 Oct 2014 - 14:08

Mojtaba Maleki, an advisor to the education minister, has announced that 5,000 members of the clergy have been assigned to schools across the country.
ISNA reports that schools will employ the clergy members as religious counsellors.

“Cooperative committees between seminaries and the ministry of education have come up with a plan to promote the quality of cultural and religious activities in all schools,” Maleki said.

He added that the clerics will be in schools three to four hours a day to answer students' questions on such subjects as Sharia, ethics and education.
