1st intl. conf. on media literacy to be held in Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 25 (MNA) – The first international conference on media literacy will be held in Iran on Oct. 22 in the Main Hall of Milad Tower International Convention Center.

According to MNA, this conference has come together with the efforts of media literacy research group and a number of academic and cultural institutions, and its main topic is to review and transfer experiences on media literacy.


Among several topics, the main topic of the conference is aimed at gathering media literacy researchers and instructors and to create an opportunity for Iran’s media literacy researchers to exchange their experiences and findings.


Prof. Saeidreza Ameli from the University of Tehran, Cindy Schieb from Abnaka College, NY, Seyed Mohsen Fatemi from Harvard University and Chris Spree from Abnaka College, NY are scheduled to deliver speeches in the event.


Conference themes include teaching media literacy; media literacy and Islamic Iranian lifestyle; and media literacy, individual growth and social responsibility.
