Salehi appreciates Armed Forces for downing Israeli drone

25 Aug 2014 - 18:35

Tehran, Aug 25, IRNA - Vice President and Head of Iran?s Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi here on Monday appreciated the Iranian Armed Forces for shooting an Israeli spy drone over the country?s territory.
Speaking in a gathering, Salehi underscored that it was divine will that the Iranian armed forces managed to accomplish this important measure.
The vigilance and readiness of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran showed that enemy targets will certainly face dead-end, he added.

He also assured the Iranian people that those who are involved in the establishing security and protecting the nuclear facilities are carrying out their duties properly.

An anti-aircraft battery of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace division shot down an Israeli spy drone over Iranian territory on Sunday.

The radar-evading drone was to penetrate into Natanz nuclear site that was shot down by IRGC missile immediately.

Iran’s nuclear facilities have always been a regular target for espionage activities by US and Israeli secret services, which have at times used drones for this purpose. However, all efforts made to this end have been successfully thwarted by the Iranian military forces.
