A senior Iranian official commemorates the victory of Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah in Israel’s 33-war on Lebanon in 2006, saying the Tel Aviv regime is teetering on the brink of collapse.
In a message to Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Friday marking the anniversary of the resistance movement’s triumph, Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei congratulated Hezbollah on its “great” and “historic” victory against Israel in the regime’s 2006 aggression.
“The Zionist regime [of Israel] is heading towards demise and annihilation, and resistance is the most efficient weapon in the fight against the child-killing occupying tyrants,” added the Iranian official.
The anniversary of Hezbollah’s victory in the 33-day war, which falls on August 14, has been designated as Islamic Resistance Day in Iran, Rezaei added.

The Tel Aviv regime launched wars on Lebanon in 2000 and 2006. About 1,200 Lebanese, most of them civilians, were killed in the 33-Day War of 2006.

On both occasions, however, Hezbollah fighters defeated the Israeli military and Tel Aviv was forced to retreat without achieving any of its objectives.

Hezbollah has said the movement has both the capability and the courage to defend Lebanon and that its missiles are ready to strike certain targets inside Israel in self-defense if Tel Aviv launches an attack.
