Ayatollah Larijani reinstated as judiciary chief

Tehran, Aug 14, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a decree on Thursday reinstating Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani for a second term as the Judiciary Chief.
The Supreme Leader appreciated efforts made by Ayatollah Larijani during his first term in the post.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the judiciary chief to do all within his power to promote justice across the country and to strongly counter corruption.

The Supreme Leader also stressed the need to boost social security and take precautionary measures to prevent crimes.

Based on Article 157 of Iran?s Constitution, the judiciary chief is appointed by the Supreme Leader for a five-year term.
